Abstract

The change of diet live artificial diet food is considered one of the most critical points larviculture fish. Its success depends largely on the feed used and the physiological characteristics of the post-larvae. In this work the transition and habituation able larvae (P. grosskopfii) to a commercial diet with 45% protein for 5 weeks was evaluated. For this 576 larvae capable of 10 days old they were selected with an initial average weight of 20.96 ± 4.35 mg and 9.77 ± 2.64 mm. Housing density was 4 larvae / L. 3 treatments were evaluated (T) with 3 replicates each, as follows: T1: bovine liver; T2: bovine liver + fisf oil and T3: Control. The best results in terms of weight gain (390 ± 18 mg), gain in size (28.9 ± 1.2 mm) and specific growth rate (2.12 ± 0.008) were recorded in the treatment T2, while the best survival was recorded in T1 treatment (31%). It is necessary to conduct studies of ontogenetic development to highlight the nutritional needs of each species to formulate diets.
