APPLICATIONS OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES IN AGRO

Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify the applications of renewable energies in the agricultural sector in Latin America and contrast them with the applications made in Colombia, with the purpose of demonstrating the opportunities or advantages that are presented for this country. It was a qualitative research, for processing non-measurable data and data collection without numerical measurement was used. As a result it was obtained that renewable energies are used in: Lighting, pumping and irrigation, water treatment, cleaning and filtering, drying, freezing and refrigeration, electrical appliances and agricultural mobile machinery. It concludes, among other aspects, that the consumption of renewable energies in the agricultural sector in some Latin American countries is low and in others it is not used.
