Abstract
This document is configured as a study on the Networks and Virtual Communities of Practice and Learning, according to the elements and benefits that these offer to the Universities in Colombia. From this, a complete bibliographical review was carried out, in which categories of analysis are highlighted, which were exposed in a detailed manner to understand the base of the information. The project is considered as an investigation that can set a pattern for the design of a Network or a Virtual Community of Practice and Learning. The results obtained show that it has been implemented by some institutions of higher education, however, the use of networks and virtual communities of practice and learning in Colombia is still incipient.
