IDENTIFICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS: A TOOL FOR THEIR APPLICATION

Abstract

The planning of an environmental management system is of great importance for organizations, the diagnosis of the
environmental aspects related to the activities, products and services that can be controlled and the determination of those that have or can have significant impacts on the environment are the important and significant ones. The main objective of this review article is to qualitatively analyze the scientific literature available in the databases and official web pages of Scielo, Redalyc and Google Academic, using as search words: environmental aspects of input and output, consumption of natural resources and waste generation. Relevant information related to the proposed objective was obtained, which is presented in 3 sections: Identification of the inputs and outputs of the processes; Procedure for the identification of environmental aspects and Assessment of Environmental Aspects. It is found that the diagnosis of environmental aspects constitutes a useful tool for the identification of problems that affect the environment and the harmony of organizations with their environment, it
could also allow the design of Environmental Management Systems.
