Abstract

The territory of the northwestern Colombian Amazon houses deep knowledge regarding its millenary relationship with insects. It was found that the highest percentage of participation corresponded to men, around the perception it was evidenced that the Tucanos, Kubeos and Sikuanis peoples reported the highest rate of liking and receptivity in their relationship with insects. While the Yeral population was the one that reported the highest percentages of discomfort towards this group of animals. On the other hand, 3 types of frequent use are identified, nutritional, medicinal and cultural, highlighting 6 useful insects among the indigenous peoples of the northwestern Amazon.
