Abstract

The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases the “Greenhouse Effect” due to human activity when using hydrocarbons in production transformation. Next is the result of the observation method, which was carried out to identify good practices of “separation of waste at the source”, involving the triplets of waste collection: organic, plastic and ordinary, among 130 participants observed at random, with: 64% women and 36% men; among them 83% young people and 17% adults, on floors two and eleven of the building in the restaurant area. It was observed that 52% make correct use of the “ecological point”. The method applied surpasses in the result the other inspections that are done by recording data (formats), providing a more real result and according to a previously applied survey, where 85% of the respondents answered that they know the code of color to use the “Ecological Point”; the conclusion is that the user dimensioned a very different index from the reality observed. The method of observation, besides being a simple technique, becomes a different way to measure the level of knowledge the community has in terms of the effective separation of waste at the source.
