Abstract

The development of the coffee flowering allows to generate studies of the morphology of the flower, which is a very important event for the coffee grower, this activity indicates the beginning of the next and new coffee harvest, linked to the agrometeorological conditions of the region. . The objective of this work was to compare the morphology of the flower of three coffee varieties: castillo, caturra and F7 collected in the farm “Las Delicias” via San Antonio del Pescado kilometer 12. The results allowed to characterize all its organs including the ovary, ovule calyx, corolla and stamen. In addition, a relevant characteristic was found for the F7 variety, since it has 6 stamen units and its corolla is longer and thinner compared to the other varieties. This type of analysis is proposed to quickly and visually determine the exact variety that the coffee farmer has on his farm.
