Abstract

The relation culture - sustainable development transits a process that integrates education, economy, science, environment, communication, and social cohesion. In the organizational environment, it is culture that makes it possible to strengthen commitment, morals and ethics, the productivity of its members; modeling behaviors that generate positive impacts on society. Hence, the objective of the study was to analyze the relationship culturedevelopment-sustainability, for the formulation of a model of organizational culture under a sustainable approach that allows organizations to move towards sustainability. The research was oriented from a transdisciplinary theoreticalepistemological-methodological perspective, which allowed an analytical treatment adequate to the multidimensionality and complexity of the object of study; considered the combination of several methods for interpretive and hermeneutical processing of theoretical contributions, documentary information, and empirical references to define a new approach to organizational culture and formulate the Sustainable Culture model. From the analysis carried out, sustainable culture is defined as a set of beliefs, values, norms, practices and behaviors that give priority to the human being, the quality of life, and the protection of nature, as central axes of the products delivered (goods / services) by the organization to society.
