Diagnóstico de los grupos de investigación del Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje - SENA

Abstract

The research groups are the cornerstones for the development of the processes of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in each of the countries, these groups mostly belong to higher education institutions (HEI), technical and technological level institutions (TTI), and research centers (RC). In Colombia, the entity in charge of the guidelines, registration and evaluation of research groups is the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Minciencias), formerly Colciencias. Since 2013, the Minciencias has been developing the processes of recognition and categorization of research groups throughout the country, these processes allow determining the strengths and weaknesses at the level of STI in the country, as well as determining the future strategies and necessary policies, in the strengthening and the reduction of the current gaps in these fields. SENA, as one of the main technical and technological entities in education for work, through its multiple training centers, techno-parks, and techno-academies, also develops STI activities. However, the challenge for SENA It is greater, since these must be focused on the improvement and advancement of the country's multiple productive sectors. This document presents the progress of the SENA research groups, based on the five measurement processes carried out by Minciencias during the years 2013 to 2019.
