FOCUS AND SCOPE
The Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales is an open access, digital journal. It is refereed by international peers and published every six months. Its main objective is the circulation of specialized knowledge through the publication of scientific and technological research, related to the areas of Agri-Food Sciences, Secondary Metabolites, Agricultural Biotechnology, Beekeeping Agroindustry and Technological Development and Business Innovation; it also includes applications of other related sciences that can enrich the discipline such as: Biotechnology, Bioprocesses, Nutrition and Innocuousness, Applied Informatics, Applied Economics and Applied Mathematics. The journal is published by the Centro Agropecuario del Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje SENA, Buga-Valle, Colombia.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
The Editorial Team of the Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales performs a preliminary review of the manuscripts in order to establish whether they conform to the topics, basic criteria and guidelines stated by the journal. If this requirement is not met, the manuscripts will be rejected.
Once the respective editorial review is completed, the manuscript is sent to at least two referees to judge the quality of the work. The evaluation system adopted by the journal is double-blind (the anonymity of authors and evaluators is preserved).
The possible outcomes of the evaluation are as follows:
Accept for publication
Accept with changes
Once the paper has been accepted, the authors will be informed of the volume and number assigned.
ITEM PROCESSING CHARGES
The Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales does not charge any fee for publication or for the services provided in all phases of the editorial process.
At the end of the editorial process, a proofreader and layout designer is assigned to take care of all formal aspects of the work prior to publication.
FREQUENCY OF PUBLICATION
The research papers accepted in the Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales require a rapid dissemination of the results to the scientific community and adopt a continuous publication model. The articles accepted in their final version will be included in the closing of the current biannual issue at the end of the correction and layout phases.

The open access policy of the Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales applies to all publications published by the journal under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. The Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales, governs its editorial management according to the guidelines on good practices for publications, issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE https://publicationethics.org/ ).

The authors retain the copyright of all open access articles published by the Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales.
Acceptance of the manuscript by the Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales implies no simultaneous submission to other journals or editorial bodies, nor participation in publications derived from seminars, congresses, and symposia. Likewise, a Letter of Originality is required. Its submission must be registered with the consent of all authors who agree not to send their contribution to other publications during the period of evaluation for publication or not.
The management of each manuscript received is conditioned to the strict order of entry in the Open Journal System - OJS and those pre-selected according to their subject matter, relevance and validity will be sent to the team of experts for the peer review process through the double-blind system. The evaluation results will be sent to the authors regardless of the final verdict.
In accordance with ethical principles, the Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales declares the non-acceptance of plagiarism and uses iThenticate: Plagiarism Detection, anti-plagiarism software.
Authors are responsible for respecting the authorship of all information included in their contribution, including tables and figures, so that there should be no cases of total or partial copying, paraphrasing without due reference and other practices of mishandling and misuse of information.
The omission of any of the precepts defined herein will be cause for rejection.

Editors, authors, and peer reviewers should disclose interests that might appear to affect their ability to present or review work objectively. These might include relevant financial interests (for example, patent ownership, stock ownership, consultancies, or speaker’s fees), or personal, political, or religious interests.
