The Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales (RCIA), is a digital open access scientific journal that publishes original national and international research articles.

RCIA gives priority to the quality of its scientific and technological publications covering the following lines of research:

* Agri-Food Sciences (Food 4.0).

* Secondary Metabolites (Bioprocesses in food).

* Agricultural Biotechnology (Applied Economics).

* Beekeeping Life.

*Technological Development and Business Innovation.

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE

The main objective of the Journal is to promote the circulation of specialized knowledge developed by national and international authors, in order to provide solutions to agricultural and agro-industrial problems, through the management of manuscripts and publication of high-quality unpublished articles in research, review and reflection format.

Criteria for publication

RCIA promotes the development of society, the academic community and the general public. Through its high impact publications for the sector. Therefore, the articles should have a solid methodological structure that is clear and replicable, supported by a robust and reliable statistical analysis that allows discussing the results and generating substantial conclusions.

In general, it is expected that the articles submitted for editorial management in the IARC will present a high academic level of writing that, in turn, will be understood by non-specialized readers and the academic community in general.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Manuscripts that enter the OJS platform of the journal RCIA, must attach the cover letter of the authors in the format available in the submissions section. Then the editorial assignment and management of the manuscript will proceed.

Subsequently, the manuscripts will be reviewed to ensure that they comply with all the objectives, basic criteria and guidelines declared by the journal, for the authors following the Editorial Management Guide for the academic production of SENA journals (GIC-G-005 version 2) in order to maintain high standards in the manuscripts received. Once this requirement is fulfilled, a preliminary evaluation will be made by the Editor in Chief of the journal, who will be in charge of approving or not the manuscript.

Once the editorial review is completed, the manuscript will be sent to at least two specialists in the subject, who will judge the quality of the work, under the double-blind modality.

The reviewers (national or international) will have approximately 21 days to carry out the evaluation process, considering criteria of quality and structure of the manuscript, relying on the "Evaluation Format" and the "Guide for reviewers", provided by the journal.

The reviewers will also be in charge of making recommendations to improve the manuscript and qualify it according to the following states:

* Accept for publication.

* Accept with changes (minor or major).

* Reject.

In case of disagreement of the peers, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer. After at least two (2) positive concepts by the reviewers, they will be sent to all authors using the "Evaluation Form for Authors". If there are minor or major corrections to the ID, the authors must make the requested adjustments and respond in the format to the comments made by each reviewer, in the time allotted by the journal within a period not exceeding 15 working days.

The corrected articles will be received and analyzed by the journal's Editorial Manager, who will determine the quality of the adjustments and then send this new version to the Editor-in-Chief, who will decide whether to accept or reject the manuscript.

Once the Editor-in-Chief approves the manuscript, the Editorial Manager will be in charge of generating the respective style correction, until an outstanding edition is achieved, working together with the authors of the manuscript. The latter must return the corrections respecting the time allotted by the Manager (up to 8 working days to correct). The Author(s) may approve or not the correction suggestions, but once the final version is generated, there will be no more amendments to the final text.

Once the proofreading stage is completed, the document will be sent for layout, a process that may take 2 to 3 days. Once the layout is completed, the PDF version will be sent again to the Editor-in-Chief for him to review the final version and approve its publication in the Journal's OJS Platform.

History of the RCIA Journal

The Revista Colombiana de Investigaciones Agroindustriales (RCIA), was created by the director of the research group GICTACAB Dr. Jose Libardo Tapiero Cuellar and the SENNOVA dynamizer Eng. Jose Edison Escobar Salcedo in 2014, with the publication of the first edition of scientific articles in [Vol.1 (1); printed format; annual publication frequency]. Until 2017, the journal RCIA continued with the publication of volumes [Vol.2 (1), 3 (1), and 4 (1)] annually.

In 2018, due to the notorious increase in the flow of scientific information received in the journal, the publication frequency was changed to semi-annual, with two issues in each volume until now [Vol. 5 (1 and 2), Vol. 6 (1 and 2), Vol. 7 (1 and 2), Vol. 8 (1 and 2), Vol. 9 (1 and 2)].

Another of the great achievements of the journal was the fact of moving from the printed format to the electronic format (ISSN: 2422-4456 (Electronic)), in its publications.

Since its creation, RCIA magazine has had a Mission, Vision and Target Population, as follows:

Mission.  To promote the exchange of experiences and ideas between the scientific and the cultural, through the periodic delivery to the community of a reference of updating and innovation in the agricultural field and to contribute with important research carried out in national and international institutions as well as by SENA instructors-researchers.

Vision. To position itself as a source of knowledge that motivates and is recognized by the entire scientific community in the world.

Target Population.  Students, teachers, researchers, research fellows, members of the agricultural and industrial sectors, national and international scientific community.
