Abstract

This work talks about two autobiographical texts: the firts one, To be writer, was writing by the Argentine narrator Alberto Castillo and the other, On Writer, by the American novelist Sthephen King. This work analyze and compare the motives and methods that this autors use in their creative process. Theses testimonial books are two autobiographies and personal poetics or writing manuals, which can be considered literary training texts. In both these narrators tell their lives, explain what their relationship with literature is about and reflect on their formative experiences, the process of creation and what are their personal keys to produce a meaningful work. The texts were a writer with the interest of sharing with the readers the secrets of their lives and their books, that is, in order to teach them what writing is about. In this article, he presents this self-referential attempt as a methodological possibility to promote the teaching-learning process in a “non-academic” way. Since producing testimonial and genuine stories based on one’s own experience is a way of establishing a relationship of identity and empathy with those individuals who are in a position to learn today.
