Abstract
This article analyzes the dynamics of the agricultural and fishing sectors in the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina based on a Participatory Action Research (PAR) process, in which the diagnosis was constructed as a result of collective interaction with actors in the territory. The objective of the study was to identify, validate, and understand the main problems affecting both sectors in a situated manner, integrating the voices and experiences of farmers, fishermen, community organizations, and training spaces. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was developed based on field diaries, interviews, transcripts, and participatory validation sessions, which allowed analytical categories to emerge from the process itself. The results reveal structural problems related to access to water, the costs of artisanal fishing, generational renewal, the role of women, and the relationship with institutions. It is concluded that the IAP is a relevant methodology for the construction of legitimate territorial diagnoses, oriented towards collective action and the sustainability of island livelihoods.
