Abstract
In this article, our objective is to compare the articles that perform the performance evaluation of the OpenStack, OpenNebula and CloudStack cloud computing (CC) platforms. These platforms are Open Source software that allow deploying private and public clouds, but they differ in their construction architecture and the solution deployment method. This article presents the comparison between the three CC platforms, considering
their architecture, the most important functional elements, and also we identify the performance metrics typically used in the execution of complex computational problems (HPC). Then, we contrast with the results obtained by other authors in the technical performance test in HPC. At the end of the article, it is evident how cloud computing platforms add an overhead to the execution of HPC, but following the computational problem to solve this overload, it is possible, and we present it as a favorable alternative concerning having a local infrastructure (on-premise).
