Resumen
La capacidad de la empresa para desarrollar simultáneamente innovaciones que exploten sus conocimientos actuales, al mismo tiempo que exploran nuevas oportunidades que van más allá de su conocimiento presente, reconocida como ambidestreza organizacional, se muestra como una alternativa crucial para el logro de un desempeño sostenido y por encima del promedio de la industria. Sin embargo, esta no es una tarea fácil para ser desarrollada por la empresa en exclusiva, de modo que colaborar con otras organizaciones se plantea como un camino para lograrlo. El estudio del uso de las relaciones inter-organizacionales para la consecución de ambidestreza organizacional es un área de interés reciente, todavía carente de articulación sistemática. Por ello, se presenta una revisión de la literatura de ambidestreza organizacional con énfasis en la fuente externa que supone el establecimiento de relaciones inter-organizacionales, en contraste con las fuentes internas que se han abordado más ampliamente. En este sentido, se realizó una revisión de las revistas de mayor factor de impacto asociadas con los campos del management y el marketing que tratan temas de innovación. Se concluye que las relaciones inter-organizacionales pueden ser una fuente generadora de ambidestreza organizacional y tener un efecto sobre el desempeño de la firma en presencia de otras variables como la capacidad de absorción, el gobierno relacional y la capacidad de alianzas. Las implicaciones de los resultados están asociadas con aquellos factores que deben tenerse en cuenta para procurar acuerdos colaborativos de innovación más exitosos.
