Abstract
Essential oils are aromatic materials located in different organs of the plants (Flowers, leaves, fruits, barks and peels), composed of several fragrant organic substances. The aim of the Project is to design and construct a pilot plant to extract essential oils from different vegetal materials and its subsequent fractionation. Since the project must have educational purposes, the plant was designed in such a way that the extraction and fractionation processes would be realized in different ways: water mixed or non-mixed raw material, heating with steam (direct or indirect) or gas.
