Evaluación de tres métodos de propagación para árboles élite del banco de germoplasma de cacao del Centro de Formación Agroindustrial de Campoalegre, Huila (Colombia)

Abstract

Asexual propagation in cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is an alternative for conservation and genetic improvement in cocoa cultivation. The objective of this research was to evaluate three methods of propagation, by cuttings, layering and in vitro. The research was carried out at the Agroindustrial Training Center, where elite trees were selected from the Cocoa Germplasm Bank. The data recorded in the three methods were color and time. The best result found was layering, observing the formation of callus and consequently the formation of roots in less time.
