Abstract
The objective of this article is to carry out the diagnosis of the capacities and technological situation of the Colombian forestry-industrial sector and its application in the model of structural elements for construction with wood. For which the project developed a technological diagnostic survey that was applied to 30 logging companies in Colombia, the species were defined through a prioritization matrix with 20 variables, the construction system was defined based on the results of the Technological diagnosis and modeling was developed using the Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology. As a result, the project established a diagnosis of the current technological situation of the forestry industry as a baseline, defined the GLULAM and CLT construction systems for the project, prioritized 3 species Tectona grandis, Pinus patula y Pinus caribaea for the construction of the families and modeled a prototype building for institutional educational use, validating that Colombia has the short-term technological potential for the foray into wood construction through prefabricated modular systems.
